Carlisle Public SchoolsÕ Interim Web Page Publishing Policy
We are enthusiastic and excited as we move toward posting the Carlisle Public SchoolsÕ ÒofficialÓ web-site on the Internet. We appreciate the efforts of the Web Page Task Team, and their efforts in posting class or individual web pages. In order to provide guidance in the construction and on-going maintenance of the Carlisle Public SchoolsÕ web-site and any pages, which may be linked, the following INTERIM policies and procedures regarding web pages are being established. As Interim policies, they are subject to change, and we welcome input as we proceed.
Purpose: The Carlisle Public Schools web-site, and any web pages that are linked to it, are a means of communicating information electronically to students, parents, staff and the general public. Through our web-site and web pages, we hope:
-to make available instructional materials and resources for students and staff
- to share with citizens of the Carlisle learning community and the rest of the world, information about our curriculum and instruction, school-authorized activities, and other facts relating to the Carlisle Public Schools and our mission.
Who can publish web pages?
1.
Only authorized members (also known as ÒauthorsÓ) of the Carlisle Public Schools

administration, staff, and faculty can publish, or post, web pages to the Carlisle Public Schools web-site.
3.
A designated Webmaster(s) shall grant authority to publish pages based on an acknowledged understanding of the Policies and Procedures for publishing pages (see below).
4.
The Webmaster shall have the right to review all published pages and to rescind publishing privileges without notice if the rules and guidelines are not being followed.
5.
The Webmaster may require that all pages be reviewed before publication.
6.
The ÒauthorÓ may, with permission and appropriate security, publish student or other work, but the author takes full responsibility for all content published with his or her authority.
1. All web pages must comply with the Carlisle Public Schools Acceptable Use Policy guidelines.
2. No web page shall link to any inappropriate material, nor should they contain email or other personal information of students.
3.
Web pages representing the Carlisle Public Schools shall reside on the DistrictÕs web server or be published through a Carlisle Public SchoolsÕ designated service.
4.
Copyrighted materials, including graphics, may not be used on web pages without permission from the copyright holder.
5.
Identifiable photos and student full names will not be used on public web pages. Signed parental release forms are required for any publication of student pictures or names.
6.
All web pages, which display photos of students or student work, should be password protected or otherwise restricted from open public viewing.
7.
Web pages are subject to administrative team review to insure that they comply with Carlisle Public Schools policies and guidelines.
