NOTIFICATION OF ASBESTOS REINSPECTION
( AHERA 3 year Inspection)
TO: Parents
& Staff of the Carlisle Public School
FROM: Davida
Fox-Melanson, Superintendent
DATE: November
14, 2003
In
compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Asbestos Hazard
Emergency Response Act (AHERA) in May 1989, we performed inspections of our
school buildings for asbestos-containing building materials. The inspection findings and asbestos
management plans have been on file at the office of the Supervisor of Buildings
and Grounds, Carlisle Public School since that time.
The
EPA requires us to perform reinspections of the asbestos materials every three
years. On November 4, 2003 an accredited inspector performed the reinspections.
An accredited management planner reviewed the results of the reinspections and
recommended actions we should take to safely manage each asbestos material in
our buildings.
There
were no significant findings noted during the reinspection. All
asbestos materials in the school buildings are in good condition and we will
continue to manage them in place, as recommended by the accredited management
planner.
The
results of the reinspection are on file in the management plan in the office of
the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds, 120 Church Street, Carlisle, MA.
Everyone is welcome to view these anytime during normal school hours (8:00 a.m.
- 4:00 p.m.) The Asbestos Program Manager, David Flannery, is available to
answer any questions you may have about asbestos in our buildings at (978)
369-6550, ext. 2002.
