Skill Objectives: To design a book cover utilizing the art library as a resource
Experience: Graphic design plus various type fonts

Concept: Scratch board/ Use of Negative Shapes for a Drawing
Skill Objectives: To learn to use scratch board tools to incise lines into scratch board
Experience: Use of positive and negative design
Media Tools: Scratch board stylus and use of wooden stick, pencil

Concept : Observation and Shading with Volume
Skill Objectives: To learn how to enlarge and show volume
Experience: Drawing old masters drawings and animals on gray paper with white highlights
Media Tools: Gray paper, ebony pencil, white carbon pencils

Concept: Juxtaposed Shapes, Color Harmony
Skill Objectives: To chip, break glass following a pattern create a design utilizing color value and balance of color
Experience: Mosaics-Background history of mosaics
Media Tools: Scrap glass. glass breakers, glue, grout, sponge, squeegee, plexiglass

Concept: Color Value/Split Image
Skill Objectives: To use color value to achieve visual illusion
Experience: Working with cray pas
Media Tools: Cray pas, magazines

Concept: Abstract Art, Blending Colors
Skill Objectives: To create new colors and use of tints and shades utilizing volume with an abstract design
Experience: Painting with acrylics, introduction to modern art
